In the picture above its obvious what the scene is. This is a sight of bewildering glimpses of light breaking through a mirror of clouds above the ocean and beach. The sun being completely blocked out by these smallish tuffs of clouds gives the effect of almost an explosion above the water flaring into the sand. The sand also has somewhat of a mirror effect by being slightly moist. In the focal point of this image taken, the water is breaking and rushing back towards the view given. If letting the focal point take control of this image, the rushing water leads into this blackened out explosive boarder surrounding the image giving this picture a more of a contrast of the lighter and darker values.
What could be made from this picture above could simply be the artist exadurating the contrasts of the gloomy ocean and the brilliant flares of the solar rays. The artist chose this peak of the day because the sun was completely blocked out, but the shot still has the brilliance as though the sun was peaking through. Its almost as though the photographer was trying to suggest parts of life can be hidden, but mean so much. As eyes wonder through the screen the black explosive boarder appears more ubrupt as though trying to stress the focal point on the waves reflection of the sun. its obvious that this boarder was added in after the shot was taken, almost like the artist knew what they were trying to accomplish by doing so. Its as though they’re suggesting life can be so dark and misleading, like how the picture doesn’t show if the water is rushing in or out, but if focused on the highlights, the sunlights, life can be so much better almost like a paradise hidden behind the darkness.
